Prominent Neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina

Ballantyne is a prominent neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina that covers a 2,000-acre surface. The area was initially a hunting lot owned by the Harris family, direct descendants of Cameron A. Morrison, a former North Carolina Governor. The family started here, the Ballantyne Corporate Park in 1992, which quickly become one of the most thriving planned communities in the country.

Today, Ballantyne is an extremely sought-out real estate area, with multiple luxury home communities, townhouses, apartment buildings, and even assisted-living communities. Though technically still a Charlotte neighborhood, the many amenities here make Ballantyne seem almost like an actual city, as it is also the home of several big corporations.

And it’s precisely because of this that in 2012, residents met to debate the possibility of separating from Charlotte and establishing their town, called Providence. It was the first city in the entire state of North Carolina to do so. The move was born out of frustration on behalf of some Ballantyne residents regarding paying taxes to Charlotte, while the City Council’s focus remained solely in the uptown of the city. However, the plans never moved forward.

We had a great experience with Jeff and team and would recommend them to everyone. We had them build a screen porch for us. It is rare when you can say that everything went according to plan, but it did. Jeff was honest and transparent and we had zero surprises throughout the entire process. The build is high quality and no short cuts were taken. We are extremely happy with our new screen porch and have already spent a lot of time out there, even with the weather cooling down (thanks to the heaters!).

This is the fourth renovation project we have completed since we bought our house in 2013 and this was by far the best experience. We can not thank Jeff and his team enough. From the initial estimate all the way through the final punch, Jeff and staff were always punctual showing up right at the specified time. Once permits were in place construction seemed to fly by. Staff always cleaned up and respected our home which was nice given the fact that we have young children (no spare nails or power tools ever left behind). And most importantly the final product was absolutely stunning of the highest quality. My wife and I could not be happier.

We can't thank Jeff and his team at Charlotte Decks and Porches enough for our beautiful screened porch! Every aspect of the construction work was completed without issue and in a timely manner. Even with a few wet days and the winter holidays, our project was completed as promised. It was so nice to have a contractor who really did handle EVERY detail and made us comfortable with construction project from start to finish. We loved the fact that there was progress being made on project daily ... no long waits or interruptions once the work started. Jeff's team is friendly, reliable, and they cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Jeff's entire team was so professional. They were very tidy and worked very efficiently. We received another bid from a large decking contractor and they were more expensive without the bells and whistles that my wife and I wanted. We used Charlotte Decks based on seeing a beautiful closed in porch they were working on in the neighborhood and we not disappointed. Jeff and his team had great communication, delivered as promised and did excellent work on our own 3 season closed in deck which is perfect for this region. I have to say this has been the best experience with a builder and also the best purchase we have made since being homeowners. After receiving two recommendations from friends, I contacted Charlotte Decks and Porches for a big project that my husband and I had in mind. Jeff and his crew did an excellent job adding a two-tiered deck, patio, 2 pergolas, and a covered porch to the back of our home. We had some complex design and architectural issues to solve, and Jeff was able to pull it all together into a very attractive outdoor living area at a price much less than the quotes we received from others. Jeff and his team (ps my husband says Ben is the man!!) did a great job! I've been super impressed with how quickly everything went. This is not how most construction projects go... Typically there is a lot of sitting and waiting for progress. But not in my experience in working with Charlotte Decks and Porches.... They were seasoned pros! Everything was like clockwork and perfectly choreographed. Very satisfied with the end result and grateful to have partnered with Jeff for my outdoor reno needs.
