Prominent Neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina

Ballantyne is a prominent neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina that covers a 2,000-acre surface. The area was initially a hunting lot owned by the Harris family, direct descendants of Cameron A. Morrison, a former North Carolina Governor. The family started here, the Ballantyne Corporate Park in 1992, which quickly become one of the most thriving planned communities in the country.

Today, Ballantyne is an extremely sought-out real estate area, with multiple luxury home communities, townhouses, apartment buildings, and even assisted-living communities. Though technically still a Charlotte neighborhood, the many amenities here make Ballantyne seem almost like an actual city, as it is also the home of several big corporations.

And it’s precisely because of this that in 2012, residents met to debate the possibility of separating from Charlotte and establishing their town, called Providence. It was the first city in the entire state of North Carolina to do so. The move was born out of frustration on behalf of some Ballantyne residents regarding paying taxes to Charlotte, while the City Council’s focus remained solely in the uptown of the city. However, the plans never moved forward.

This is the fourth renovation project we have completed since we bought our house in 2013 and this was by far the best experience. We can not thank Jeff and his team enough. From the initial estimate all the way through the final punch, Jeff and staff were always punctual showing up right at the specified time. Once permits were in place construction seemed to fly by. Staff always cleaned up and respected our home which was nice given the fact that we have young children (no spare nails or power tools ever left behind). After a long search, my husband and I chose Charlotte Decks and Porches to replace our old deck with a bigger deck with a roof. (See before and after pictures below.) Jeff (owner) gave us a quote and a time frame and he was spot on. The only things that changed in his quote were things that we added on after the fact, and the job was done when he said they’d be done (without cutting corners and despite some weather challenges). This crew was the most impressive and professional crew we've ever worked with. They cleaned up the job site every day before leaving; they had materials delivered as needed so we didn't have our property or driveway obstructed for long periods of time; they were polite, easy to communicate with, and very respectful. Jeff was on site just about every day to check on the progress and to check in with us. He was very responsive to emails and stayed on top of any concerns we may have had. Even his sub-contractors were great (painters, electricians, gutters, etc.) and Jeff made sure that their work was top quality from beginning to end. He said the screen porch would take six weeks to complete and (despite a stretch of rainy weather) it took six weeks to complete.Communication.
